Ron Thomsen

 Ron has extensive experience in Corporate and Investment Banking both as a deal doer and an Administrator of Large Corporate Banking Divisions, for a major Australian Trading Bank and an International Investment Bank. Ron has been the lead in large Project and Structured Finance transactions and as a provider of high level Corporate Advice, over many years. In Investment Banking he has been involved in facilitating and completing Mergers and Acquisitions, including four successful bids resulting in acquisitions of businesses of over US$1 billion each.

 As Managing Director of Westpac Project and Advisory Services, Ron was exposed to a wide range of large corporate financial and advisory roles, and also financial product innovations, like the inflation indexed bond, which resulted in the $700m Sydney Harbour Tunnel project being financed.
He has broad experience in Board Governance gained from being in Executive roles with Corporate and Not for Profit Boards spanning three decades.  Ron has used his Financial knowledge and administrative experience in assisting a number of Not For Profit charitable organisations with advice on turning around adverse business experiences. His focus has mainly been in the Aged Care and Disability , and Community charitable sectors, and has been successful in facilitating Mergers and Collegiate associations.
He is currently an active Board member on two Not For Profit Boards and as a pro bono advisor for the philanthropic One Direct Advisory.

 

Raea is a specialist commercial business lawyer and advisor. His experience has been gained in a commercial business advisory firm, consisting of accounting, financial planning, and legal departments. An empathetic person, he has provided legal advice to minority groups and communities, leading to extensive volunteer work. An experienced legal supporter of the Not-for-Profit sector in diverse communities.

 

Dennis TaylorDennis has had extensive management experience in both the profit and not for profit sectors. Working in both government and private arenas Dennis has developed the knowledge, encompassing ability and resolute fortitude to meet and exceed the requirements of challenging positions.  Dennis has substantial risk management and strategic planning experience in the profit and not for profit sectors.

 

 

Brian Freeman BW

Brian holds a doctorate in Plant physiology and this led to his consulting and export business for over 25 years. This provided a broad skill base in strategic planning, and business management. More recently he acts a mentor for start up businesses. His international business provided a wide experience in marketing and business analytics. Supports NFP’s in the community having served on 4 NFP Boards.

Andrew is a transformational leader who delivers innovative business solutions and strategic planning across sectors. Energetic and dedicated, he has 35 years’ experience transforming non-profit organisations into profitable community businesses.  Andrew is committed to developing and implementing values-driven business. Able to analyse problems, develop and simplify procedures, he has a proven ability to work effectively with people from all walks of life and cultures.

 

 

Les had had an extensive career in consulting, advising on leasing and structured finance, and designing financial software. Recognised by major corporations for high level expertise in mathematical and actuarial roles including complex business computer modelling for projects, tax effect equations, and business cash flows. Les has more recently been a lecturer for in-house and university courses in applied finance and computer modelling.

 

 

Mark is a business, governance and investment adviser. He is an experienced non-executive director in the banking, hospital, aged care and software sectors, and an experienced chairman of board committees. He has provided advice to various Not-for-Profit organisations including aged care health, education, professional institutes, peak agricultural industry councils and government bodies. Advice included: governance reviews, board performance appraisals, strategy, incorporation of NFPs, pricing of major services and staff salaries, succession planning, board roles and responsibilities, constitution, accounting and mergers.

 

 

Michael has over 28 years’ experience in the areas of banking, finance and funds management, having held various senior roles within Westpac Banking Corporation. His direct experience covers both the resources and infrastructure sectors and he was globally responsible for these activities for over 8 years in Westpac. Since leaving Westpac in early 2007 Michael has been consulting for both private sector and government clients in the infrastructure space.

 

Paul has been Involved for over 50 years on four continents at senior executive level in corporate banking, project and structured finance, corporate advisory and investment banking. For the past 18 years he has been involved on a continuous basis in ASIC related activities including personal financial advice & Managed Investment Schemes. He is currently, ASIC authorised as an adviser to the boards of two non-listed public companies.

 

 


Lauren is an accountant with over 10 years’ experience in the civil construction industry. Experienced in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and strategic planning. She has a continuous improvement approach on all daily tasks, while being able to integrate analytical thinking with creativity. Experience with a Not for Profit board including being a member of the finance and risk committee and an active member of the local community.

 

 

Jordan Bryant
CPA qualified Accountant with over 9 years’ experience in FMCG managing financial systems, strategies, commercial financial controls, budgets, financial analysis and forecasting. Extensive background in management and cost accounting focusing on implementing industry-leading process improvements.

 

A senior Human Resources leader with a successful track record working with CEOs and Boards in Financial Services and Telecommunications in both Australia and Asia. Experienced in managing HR and business transformation; developing HR strategy aligned to business plans; developing leadership capability and talent pipelines; establishing commercially focused HR functions; and building high performance cultures. Commercially focused and experienced in aligning HR strategy and delivery to successful business outcomes including organisational restructures, mergers and acquisitions and developing outcome-based cultures.

 

 

Ted CoupeTed has 35 years experience in values based health and aged care organisations at executive level. With broad based experience in health, aged and community services management, Ted has acted as a lead change agent in transition of a government owned aged care facility to a viable and successful service within the not-for-profit sector.
Amber SmythAmber is a lawyer with experience in property, commercial, business and strata law. She has a background in public relations, contributing to her transparent and collaborative style of communication. Amber has been a proactive legal volunteer in the community, with experience at community organisations, both in Australia and overseas.
